Sheri Sowder
In 2019, Sheri had a dream to begin Quirky Teacher Coach. After influencing hundreds of students & teachers through the years, she wasn’t ready to stop. She started her plan to ENCOURAGE and ENGAGE teachers with meaningful content, and ENTERTAIN a little bit along the way!
Sheri began teaching after four years at Baylor University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Math Education. Her teaching locations are located below under family pictures.
Seven years were spent at Region 17 Education Service Center. Sheri’s specialty areas are listed below under ESC 17 logo. She learned more at this job than anywhere because of working with 57 school districts in many different capacities.
In her thirties, she finished her Master's degree in Educational Leadership and began teaching at Texas Tech University. Texas Tech University was her home for 18 years. Sheri was honored to be a Site Coordinator for the rigorous Tech Teach program which requires a full calendar year of student teaching. There she worked hard with students to learn more about high-level questioning and engaging content. It was a joy for her to meet and work with so many extraordinary mentor teachers and student teachers.
